FIRST WEEKEND of NOVEMBER SHOWS

posted by SHELLEY BRUCAR

The first weekend of November in Chicago can be much more exciting than watching the final leaves fall; it is always a wonderful weekend for art.  The Chicago Botanic Garden hosts the Fine Art of Fiber, an exhibit by the North Suburban NeedleArts Guild, Illinois Quilters, Inc. and Weavers Guild of the North Shore.  First shown in 1981, this is one of the oldest and most prestigious needle art exhibits in the Midwest.

Opening Night:  Thursday, 4 November, 2010, 6:30pm to 9pm

EXHIBIT HOURS:  Friday-Sunday, 5-7 November, 2010, 10am to 5pm

This same weekend at Festival Hall Navy Pier, Chicago hosts the 17th Annual International Sculpture Objects & Functional Art Fair: SOFA CHICAGO 2010, featuring 80 art galleries and dealers from 10 countries.  Also at Navy Pier this weekend, you can see The Intuit Show of Folk and Outsider Art.

What a fine weekend for art enthusiasts and collectors!
